The papers include diaries 1898-1967; correspondence and letters received; unpublished novels and novellas 1914-1950s; and other literary manuscripts, being mainly contributions to women's magazines, daily and suburban newspapers including The Times (King Cross) 1942-1946. Together with this collection are the papers of her sister, Dorothy J. Marshall nee Hopkins, c.1900-1951 being mainly literary manuscripts, and letters received by Livingston Hopkins, 1899-1905, n.d.

L. Hopkins, 1846-1927, known as Hop, came to Australia from U.S.A. in 1883 to work on the Bulletin, Sydney as a cartoonist. In his youth he had enlisted to fight in the Civil War. Journalist. Daughter of Livingston Hopkins, the well-known cartoonist 'Hop' of the Bulletin.
